Responsibilities
Milking Operations
- Assist with twice-daily milking of cows using milking machinery
- Ensure proper hygiene and sanitation of milking equipment and sheds
- Monitor milk quality and report abnormalities
Animal Care and Welfare
- Monitor herd health and identify signs of illness or injury
- Assist with calving, calf rearing, and feeding
- Administer basic treatments under supervision such as vaccinations and drenching
Feeding and Pasture Management
- Assist with livestock feeding, including supplementary feeding
- Help with pasture allocation and rotation
- Monitor feed levels and report shortages
Farm Maintenance and Operations
- Maintain fences, water systems, and farm infrastructure
- Operate tractors, quad bikes, and other farm machinery where trained
- Clean and maintain farm equipment and facilities
Health, Safety, and Compliance
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures
- Ensure compliance with animal welfare and environmental regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and biosecurity standards
General Farm Duties
- Assist with weed control and effluent management
- Support general farm upkeep and seasonal farm activities
- Help during peak workload periods such as calving season
Requirements
