Job Responsibilities
As a Welder (SMAW), your main responsibilities will include:
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and welding instructions
- Setting up and operating welding equipment such as SMAW (Stick), MIG, TIG, or gas welding machines
- Cutting, joining, and welding metal components according to project specifications
- Inspecting completed welds to ensure strength, accuracy, and quality standards
- Repairing and maintaining metal structures, tools, and equipment
- Following all safety procedures and wearing proper protective equipment
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Coordinating with supervisors and team members to complete tasks on time
Job Requirements
To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical or vocational training in welding is an advantage
- Proven experience in welding or metal fabrication (preferred but not mandatory for fresh graduates)
- Ability to read technical drawings and welding instructions
- Good physical condition and ability to perform manual work
- Willingness to work full-time and follow company safety policies
Required Skills
The ideal candidate should have:
- Knowledge of SMAW welding techniques and tools
