About the Antimicrobial Peptide Chemistry Group
The Antimicrobial Peptide Chemistry Group, led by Professor Zvi Hayouka, has world-leading expertise in multiple research areas. These include peptide chemistry, peptide modifications, microbiology, antimicrobial peptide design and synthesis, solid phase chemistry, peptide bacterial binders, and biosensing.

Job Summary – Research Fellow Role
The Research Fellow will adapt to new peptide synthesis and discovery techniques, support surface assembly processes of lead peptides, and assist in developing antimicrobial assays and electrochemical studies in collaboration with other consortium partners.
The role involves direct laboratory experimentation, data collection, grant proposal preparation, and the training of junior researchers. The position also requires international collaboration, including travel to Israel for specialized training, and reporting remotely to the Principal Investigator (PI).

Key Responsibilities
- Collect and prepare data/information/proposals required for relevant grant call processes.
- Conduct experiments related to the synthesis and characterization of peptide bacterial binders or antimicrobial peptides.
- Assist in interpreting and applying processes and procedures to conduct/monitor project progress.
- Gather information/data and prepare documents for reporting/papers.
- Assist in and deliver training and coaching to new members in relevant laboratory/technical skills.
- Report remotely to the PI and travel to Israel for training.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Ph.D. degree in Peptide Chemistry or Microbiology.
- Strong experimental skills, particularly in peptide chemistry.
- Experience in designing antimicrobial peptides and characterizing their antimicrobial and selectivity profiles.

- Ability to work independently in gathering data and preparing reports/papers.
