Key Responsibilities
The Painter will be responsible for:
- Painting interior and exterior areas of the hotel using brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other applicators
- Preparing surfaces for painting, including washing, scraping, sanding, and sandblasting
- Cutting in freehand or with tape, spot priming, and rolling walls
- Caulking, filling, sanding trim, patching drywall, and rolling walls and trim
- Mixing and matching paints, enamels, lacquers, stains, and protective coatings
- Identifying and repairing deficiencies in drywall, millwork, appliances, fixtures, flooring, and windows
- Assisting with preventative maintenance tasks and general repairs
- Maintaining an organized inventory of painting materials and supplies
- Prioritizing tasks efficiently and completing projects on schedule
- Supporting Health & Safety standards and environmental sustainability programs
- Collaborating with the Chief Engineer and maintenance team on projects and renovations
- Performing any other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications and Experience
- Secondary or High School education
- Trade Certificate or relevant professional qualification is advantageous
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a Painter in a professional setting
- Strong knowledge of painting techniques, tools, and safety practices
- Ability to work efficiently, manage time, and prioritize tasks
- Detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality finishes
