Position Details
- Job Title: Packing Operator

- Location: Hornby, Christchurch
- Shifts: Primarily Saturday and Sunday
- Training: Provided
- Shift Length: Dependent on daily production requirements (work continues until duties are completed)
Key Responsibilities
- Operate packing machinery and production lines
- Weigh, chill, pack, and prepare mushrooms for dispatch
- Load and unload mushrooms from racks and pallets
- Accurately enter harvester and tray data into pre-pack computer systems
- Weigh trays correctly and ensure order accuracy
- Handle mushrooms carefully to maintain product quality
- Weigh, wrap, and prepare pre-packed mushrooms and bagged orders
- Assist with cleaning and hygiene of machines and work surfaces
- Follow all health, safety, and food safety procedures
Job Requirements
- Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 15 kg
- Ability to read and understand numbers and scales
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Previous factory or packing experience (preferred)
- Good attendance record and high reliability
- Reliable transport to and from work
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and food safety regulations
- New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand work visa
- Must currently reside in New Zealand
