Job Summary – Part 1
The Human Resources Manager will report directly to the General Manager and will be responsible for developing and implementing resort-wide HR policies, procedures, and employee programs. This leadership role is pivotal in recruiting and retaining a strong workforce, ensuring compliance with local employment laws, and fostering a positive workplace culture.

Key responsibilities include managing the full recruitment cycle, onboarding new employees, creating training and development programs, implementing employee engagement initiatives, overseeing health and safety compliance, and ensuring competitive compensation structures. The HR Manager will also analyze hiring trends, conduct employee surveys, and support departmental managers in their staffing needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all recruitment initiatives to meet departmental staffing needs.
- Manage onboarding and orientation for all resort employees.
- Implement and oversee resort-wide training, employee development, and succession planning.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies, local employment laws, health and safety regulations, and workers’ compensation guidelines.
- Manage the recruitment cycle for both year-round and seasonal positions.
- Support department heads in recruitment and training activities.
- Recommend competitive pay structures for hourly and salaried roles.
- Review and enhance the total rewards package for employees at all levels.
- Analyze hiring trends and employee engagement data to improve workplace satisfaction.
- Develop and oversee an exit interview process.
- Conduct annual employee surveys at the end of the busy season.
- Update policies in accordance with new legislation.
- Be familiar with the LMIA process for hiring foreign workers.
- Participate in the resort health and safety committee.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 5–10 years of HR management experience, preferably in hospitality or resort operations.
- Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of employment acts, occupational health and safety legislation, and HR best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook).
- Integrity, confidentiality, and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Background in recreation, leisure, hospitality, or travel & tourism is an asset.
