Position Overview – Cell Culture Scientist (PhD)
As a Cell Culture Scientist, you’ll be immersed in large-scale bioproduction of cultivated meat via mammalian cell culture. You’ll work within a certified, GMP-compliant facility and support end-to-end processes—from media prep to metabolite analysis. You’ll also have leadership responsibilities, contributing to innovation, reporting, and client communications.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform mammalian cell culture at small and large scale
- Prepare and optimize solutions and culture media
- Conduct bioanalytical testing of metabolites and media components
- Troubleshoot and improve performance of various cell lines
- Maintain accurate documentation and lab records in line with cGMP standards
- Liaise with vendors and third-party testing labs for timely project execution
- Author and review SOPs, technical reports, white papers, and experimental protocols
- Lead and mentor a team of research officers and scientists
- Collaborate with commercial teams to support application and sales strategies
Qualifications and Skills
PhD in Biology or related life sciences field
Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in mammalian cell culture
Hands-on expertise in aseptic techniques, microbiology, cell biology
Proficiency with lab-scale bioreactors is a strong plus
Advanced skills in Excel and scientific data handling
Strong communication and presentation skills
Organized, proactive, and collaborative with a growth mindset
Able to work independently and under pressure
Familiarity with GMP, SFA, or FSSC 22000 standards is an advantage
