The site is located along the coastline, just five minutes from Hokitika town centre and approximately 30 minutes south of Greymouth, with easy access from State Highway 6. Job Overview
As a Cleaner, you will play an important role in maintaining hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards within the processing site. This position is well-suited for someone with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively within a team. No previous experience is required, as full on-the-job training is provided.
Working Arrangements
- Complete on-the-job training and earn a minimum of $28.82 per hour, plus additional allowances
- Usually 30 hours per week, with overtime opportunities available
- Evening shifts, typically between:
- 2:00pm – 11:00pm, or
- 11:00pm – 5:00am, depending on the season
- All work clothing and safety gear provided
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out cleaning tasks across processing areas
- Safely handle and use approved chemical cleaning products
- Maintain hygiene, quality, and food safety standards
- Follow all health and safety procedures
- Work closely with team members to complete cleaning schedules
- Ensure work areas meet technical and compliance requirements
Requirements
- No previous experience required – full training provided
- Must be 18 years or older to meet audit requirements
- Eligible to work in New Zealand
- Ability to understand and follow health, safety, and quality standards
- Physically fit and able to meet job requirements
- Able to pass:
- Pre-employment medical check
- Criminal convictions check
- Physical fitness assessment
- Willingness to undergo mandatory drug and alcohol testing
