Job Summary – Welding Engineer Role
As a Welding Engineer at Farnek, you will be responsible for developing and implementing welding procedures for different steel grades, including mild steel (MS), stainless steel (SS), and alloy steels. You will evaluate and select the appropriate welding processes—such as SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and SAW—depending on project needs. Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement welding procedures for various steel grades (MS, SS, alloy steels).
- Select and evaluate welding processes such as SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and SAW.
- Ensure proper pre-heating, PWHT (post-weld heat treatment), and stress-relief measures.
- Conduct performance checks, interpret results, and recommend corrective actions.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Use tools, measurements, and readings accurately for welding operations.
- Perform asset condition verification to assess equipment and material performance.
- Request or collect materials from stores for work execution as per work orders.
- Enter plant rooms and other authorized work areas to perform welding operations.
- Propose innovative ideas to improve safety, energy efficiency, and operations.
- Support team leaders by executing tasks within assigned areas of responsibility.
Required Qualifications and Skills
