Job Responsibilities
As a Truck Driver, your responsibilities will include:
- Transporting horses, including loading and unloading for race days and barrier trials
- Assisting with paddock work transportation as required
- Coordinating vehicle maintenance, cleanliness, and refuelling
- Providing private transport for management staff when required
- Liaising with management regarding horse transport schedules
- Assisting with strapping duties when required
- Performing basic stable hand duties such as hosing, rugging, feeding horses, and yard cleaning
- Supporting general stable operations as needed
- Operating an equine treadmill when required (training provided if needed)
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must:
- Hold a minimum MR truck licence or be willing to obtain one before commencement
- Have proven horse-handling experience
- Be reliable, punctual, honest, and well presented
- Be comfortable working flexible hours, including weekends and unsociable hours when required
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and ability to work under pressure
- Have a good understanding of workplace health and safety procedures
- Hold valid work rights and documentation for Australia
- Have a good understanding of the English language
Previous experience with raceday saddling and use of the Prism platform is advantageous but not essential.
