Job Summary – Part 1

The Field Operations/Maintenance Representative will be responsible for a wide range of duties in an oil operations environment, with a strong emphasis on safety program development, operational representation, and technical support for special programs. This role requires a hands-on approach to reviewing safety procedures, investigating incidents, and ensuring all facilities are designed, built, and maintained to the highest operational and safety standards.

Job Summary – Part 2

Your work will include reviewing proposals for new installations, assessing facilities during construction, assisting in commissioning and start-up, and investigating plant performance issues. You will also provide technical maintenance support, develop improved operating procedures, and assist in training local operations and maintenance personnel. The role is ideal for a highly experienced professional with a deep understanding of oil operations, plant maintenance, and loss prevention practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and coordinates the organization’s safety program.
  • Reviews operations and maintenance safety procedures.
  • Represents the organization in investigating plant incidents and near misses.
  • Develops and recommends improved procedures as necessary.
  • Coordinates all safety performance records and statistics.
  • Reviews proposals and designs for new installations to ensure efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Reviews new facilities during construction to confirm compliance with design and operational objectives.
  • Initiates corrective action where necessary.
  • Assists in the commissioning and start-up of new plants and facilities.
  • Investigates plant performance to identify and resolve operational issues.
  • Performs maintenance technical functions, including job planning, scheduling, troubleshooting, and repair advice.
  • Assists in the preparation and review of operating and maintenance general instructions.
  • Provides technical consultation and prepares special studies as required.
  • Supports training and development of operations and maintenance personnel.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Completion of English (ERW), Maths (MI) at ITC, or equivalent from other educational systems.
  • Fifteen years of progressively responsible oil operations and plant maintenance experience, including supervisory roles.
  • Loss Prevention experience is highly desirable.
  • Alternatively, a BA/BS degree plus seven years of oil operations or maintenance field experience.
