Job Summary – Part 1

The successful Quantity Surveyor (Post Contract) will work with a Tier 1 Main Contracting Client in Dubai, UAE. This role requires extensive experience in managing post-contract activities and sub-contract procurement on major civil construction projects. The work includes overseeing contractual matters, managing valuations, preparing claims, and ensuring that project costs are controlled effectively.

Candidates must have prior experience with recognized main contracting companies and a proven track record in delivering accurate, timely, and compliant contract administration.


Job Summary – Part 2

This is an initial 3–6 month contract position, outsourced through J10 Consulting, with the option to transition into a permanent staff role based on mutual agreement. The Quantity Surveyor will play a critical role in ensuring contractual compliance, managing variations, and supporting the commercial team in achieving project targets. Strong SAP knowledge, excellent technical writing ability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment are essential.


Key Responsibilities

  • Administer all contractual matters for main contracts and subcontracts, keeping the Project Manager informed.
  • Measure and settle subcontract accounts in line with company procedures and contract terms.
  • Submit interim valuations and ensure timely certification and payments.
  • Liaise with proposed subcontractors and prepare risk analyses for management review.
  • Conduct measurements as per contract-specific methods of measurement.
  • Prepare disruption schedules, claims, and contra charges in coordination with the Project and Commercial Managers.
  • Submit contractual notices as required under the contract terms.
  • Identify and process payment claims for all variations between tender and contract documents.
  • Prepare extension of time and additional expense claims with the Project and Commercial Managers.
  • Update contract forecasts and monthly performance reports.
  • Reconcile bulk material quantities against tender and contract documents.
  • Attend commercial meetings with consultants and subcontractors.
  • Assess risk items in BOQ or drawings and propose remedial measures.
  • Support development within the commercial department.
  • Monitor site expenditure and identify cost overrun risks.
  • Work on SAP for subcontractor certifications, purchase requests, and related tasks.
  • Procure domestic and nominated subcontract packages from enquiry to finalization.
  • Assist in estimating new projects, managing enquiries, pre-tender queries, and vendor updates.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying from a recognized institution (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in post-contract and subcontract procurement on major civil construction projects.
  • At least 1–2 years of UAE experience with recognized main contracting companies.
  • Proficiency in QS and SAP software.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven technical writing skills in English.
  • Solid project background and cost control expertise.
