Overview
Data Scout is seeking an experienced and highly competent Field Operations/Maintenance Representative to join a leading oil and gas operator in the Middle East. This is a rare, long-term expatriate opportunity for a professional with extensive operations, maintenance, and safety expertise in oilfield environments.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in overseeing plant-wide safety coordination, providing operational representation, and offering high-level technical support for special programs and projects.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Loss Prevention
- Develop, coordinate, and oversee the organization’s safety program.
- Review operations and maintenance safety procedures for compliance and efficiency.
- Represent the company during investigations of incidents and near-misses.
- Recommend and implement improved safety procedures.
- Maintain safety performance records and statistical reports.
Operations Oversight
- Review proposals and designs for new installations to ensure they can be operated and maintained safely, efficiently, and economically.
- Inspect facilities during the construction phase to verify design compliance and adequacy.
- Initiate corrective actions where necessary.
- Assist in the commissioning and start-up of new plants and facilities.
Maintenance Support
- Investigate plant performance to identify potential issues and recommend corrective measures.
- Perform technical functions including job planning, scheduling, and troubleshooting.
- Provide technical advice on repair techniques and maintenance strategies.
- Prepare and/or review general operating and maintenance instructions.
Technical Consultation & Training
- Conduct special studies on operational and maintenance challenges.
- Support workforce development by assisting in the training of operations and maintenance personnel, with a focus on Saudi Development programs.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- Completion of English (ERW) and Mathematics (MI) at ITC level or equivalent in other educational systems.
- 15 years of progressively responsible oil operations and plant maintenance experience, including supervisory roles.
- Strong knowledge of operational safety and maintenance best practices.
Preferred:
- Experience in Loss Prevention activities.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a relevant discipline, with at least 7 years of oil operations or maintenance experience.
- Proven track record in technical consultation, commissioning, and operations troubleshooting.
